Nails - Daily Poem 16

Nails

Grow, clip, grow, clip

The nails always grow

All you can do is maintain them

Hinder their progress

If you let them grow too long

They become twisted

Corrupted

And start their own journey

But that takes years

But the path is set from the start

Even just a little growth

Ends them with a sharp edge

Clip clip clip

You wouldn’t want to hurt someone

Dig your fingers into their skin

Force innocent life through an exit

Chipped nails are no good, either

Force the world to see a ruined image

This isn’t the best you

So why even show it?

Clip, smooth, buff

These nails must look pristine

You mustn’t let yourself go

Or else, the growth will take you over

  1. Written 2/8/19. It's based off of how nails get all twisty and turny when they grow too long (see the world record for longest nails and all). Any resemblance to Kira is purely coincidental. I only learned about Kira a few days after I wrote this poem weirdly enough. Anyways, I like where I went with this, and I hope you do too. Let me know what you think below!
