It's not fair, you know - Daily Poem 8

It’s not fair, you know?

It’s not fair, you know?

I’m the only one who can’t put on a show

A few jokes here and there

But what’s the use if you’re just talking to empty air

It’s not fair, you know?

I keep hitting all-time lows

People keep soaring higher and higher

And act as if I should hail them as my sire

It’s not fair, you know?

I keep pressing go

But the game doesn’t register my actions

And soon, there are already factions

It’s not fair, you know?

I can only whine from blow after blow

Others can respond and defend

But it doesn’t matter in the end

It’s not fair, you know?

To be jealous of their strengths

When I have strengths of my own

I shouldn’t act like anyone else

And just be myself

Today’s a new day

And I talk in a new way

I’m discovered again

And people see me as a ten

I’ve understood my faults

And gotten rid of my salt

I’m an organic, fresh dish

And I’ve achieved my wish
