Dear Melvin - Day 2
Dear Melvin,
So Albright gave us a prompt today. Control. C o n t r o l. Control.
Oh if she’s gonna read these I guess I should actually write about control. Hi Mrs. Albright, I promise I’m your average Indian girl raised in an American world.
So, on to business. Control. Control is basically an extension of power. If you let someone control you, you’re giving them power. If someone has power, they can control you.
For instance, parents. If I do something to displease the parentals, then they respond by using their power as maternal and paternal figures to punish me. Starting with taking away my headphones, to my phone, to my ipad, to my laptop, and once they’ve exhausted my gadgetry, they resort to removing other items, like books and other things I use to pass the time. Then it comes to not letting me leave the house, not that I leave the house very often anyways. Eventually, either I break and turn into their ideal version of a teenage girl, or I while away my time in disgraceful squalor.
Phew, I did not realize that would turn into a rant about my baffling begetters. Albright only gave us like fifteen minutes to write about this and time is almost up, so I guess I’m out.
Bye Melvin.

“I’m your average Indian girl raised in an American world.” So relatable LOL :D Off to read your next entry :)
