What is the deal with license plates? 

Every now and then I see a license plate in the form of (x+y+z...) times "heart emoji". Yes, showing off your significant other can be cute. Yes, showing appreciation for your partner can be crucial. 


No, a license plate is not, has not, and will never be a grand declaration of love. 


"Babe, I've known you for 7 years. We've dated for 4 of those. Would you make me the happiest man on Earth... and let me use your name for my license plate?" Yeah, no. 


I have never met a girl who got into a relationship looking for a license plate to mark her territory. 


But that being said, does anyone know the maximum amount of characters on the plates? Asking for a friend...
